Film replaces paper packaging ice cream

A few days ago, Ellsworth Ice Cream Company of the United States introduced frozen desserts with new OPP film as packaging material. The OPP film is an oriented polypropylene packaging material provided by ExxonMobil Chemical. Compared with paper packaging, the new film packaging has a better performance in appearance, production efficiency and moisture resistance. Exxon Mobil Corporation specializes in film production for ice cream and has five OPP films designed for cold and frozen product packaging. Ellsworth chose Oppalyte278WOS-2 as packaging material. The opaque white film with a special hollow core was treated on one side and sealed on the other side, with a thickness of 1.8 mils. This film has a low and compatible coefficient of friction while the seal temperature is about 48.8°C. The new film packaging is not only easy to tear, but also has a good moisture barrier.
