Igus New Linear Guides to Debut at Birmingham Machinery Manufacturing Show

Igus will attend the machine manufacturing exhibition in Birmingham, UK from February 14th to 15th, 2007 at C36. At that time, the company will showcase their newly developed stainless steel linear guides, energy chains and drive cables.

The Drylin W stainless steel linear guide developed by Igus is ideal for use in corrosive environments. This stainless steel Drylin W linear guide is mainly used in food processing, packaging industry and underwater environment. The material used for the guide rail is made of V4A high-quality steel.

The guide rail is highly resistant to corrosion and resistant to various chemical contaminations and can operate at temperatures up to 250°C. The rail system does not require any lubricant, so no maintenance is required during normal operation.

In addition, Igus recently introduced LeviChain, a newly developed "floating" magnetic drag chain. LeviChain counteracts the effect of gravity. It is suspended in a magnetic field and is mechanically fixed to maintain its balance. The upper section of the drag chain can move freely without contact with any other objects, so there is almost no wear.
